Emilla cloth pad review

I can safely say that Emilla pads are one of my FAVOURITE pad brands!
As far as i know all their pads are cotton topped, the cotton is the best quality cotton i have in my cloth pad stash. I'm not usually a fan of wrapped wing style pads, but these really work for me. i usually tend to experience bunching with wing styles, and i didn't experience this with these pads.They are super absorbent, they are backed in a patented fabric, this is a waterproofing layer, literately nothing can get through this layer, it is a fantastic pad for a heavy flow! The snaps are metal and super quiet in the bathroom, but still strong enough not to come undone, the snaps are nickel free.
They have no centre stitching which isn't a problem because these pads pull all of the moisture away from you even without the wicking stitch but it felt like it did. I didn't feel any moisture even after the gushes! 
The prices are fantastic! Even shipping to the UK isn't that much. I'm unsure of the shipping price for other countries bit the UK isn't much at all!
She sends you a personal note and a chocolate in every parcel! It's lovely to receive a note personally to you. It's lovely to see that she has taken the time to write that to you!  
They are just amazing pads you should check them out!

cloth pads are disgusting!!

The first question is why? Why do you think that, is it because you are using something that you have bled in again? Well, if you cut your arm, would you throw your shirt away after you washed it? No. So why is a pad any different? Or is it the fact that you have to touch the blood? Well you don't, you could always just put them in washing machine. You find this disgusting? You would put the shirt you cut your arm on in the washing machine.
Why else would this be disgusting?
Please leave a comment saying why you find them disgusting and I will try to think of a way to get around your problem.

the problem with being a beginner blogger.

First off I just want to say thank you to all of the people who have read my blog.
I just really want to spread the word of reusable menstrual products. I'm not complaining but the people who have read my blog haven't been giving me any comments, I would like this so I could receive feedback on how I'm doing, how I could improve and post ideas, I'm really stuck on what the people who are reading my posts might like to see.
Please could you all comment how I'm doing and if you would Please could you read some of my other posts, you might like them I hope.

Your first period!

I know that knowing that this thing called a "period" is going to happen can be a little scary, or perhaps in some cases, exciting. 
The next thing you need to know is what happens? 
Well a period is when the lining of the uterus is not needed, because the egg has not been fertilised by sperm. Thee lining of your uterus then has no where to go but out, this is a period. 
Now you might like to know when this is going to happen. 
Well, it could happen anytime between the ages of 8-18 (if you haven't got your period by this time then you may want to consult your doctor or gynaecologist) . It's mainly unpredictable
 One way you might be able to roughly predict your first period is to ask your mum when she started. This is not however a definite answer, if your mum started at say 10 and you are 12 and still don't have your period this doesn't mean that you will never get it. For example my mum started at 10 and I started at 13.




You should know some of the signs that your period is coming :

Hair under your arms
Pubic hair
Breast development 
Discharge (anywhere up to 3 years before you start your period) 
Spotting 

Mood swings 

Cramps in your lower abdomen, back or behind your knees

The next thing you need to know are the options of period products that are on offer.

Disposable pads
Disposable tampons 
Reusable tampons 
Menstrual cup
Cloth menstrual pad

The first 2 carry a few risks, however they ate only slight, however tampons can lead to toxic shock syndrome and this can kill you. Tampons will not kill you, it's the disease if left untreated. You can prevent TSS (toxic shock syndrome) by changing your tampons regularly. 
Pads are a little different. They have a toxic gel in them which if it comes into contact with your skin can give you chemical burns. This risk is 
extremely small and almost never happens, but once again why take the risk. 


Reusable tampons can still cause TSS, do not be mislead!

Menstrual cups however cannot cause TSS as they don't absorb anything, just collect your menstrual fluid. Then you empty out the cup and re insert.



Cloth pads work much in the same way as disposable pads, however you snap the wings together. Once you have done this you can them wash them. I have a blog post on this
